Flagship Leader Tracking Procedure

Flagship Leader Tracking

We want to track the top 3 male and top 2 female of all flagship runs as well as the leading
wheelchairs from KM 44 onwards to be able to show top 3 runners live on TV and the Live
Experience.
This means following positions in the race have to be accompanied by a bike that carries a
tracking device:

  • From KM 44 until the end:
    • 1st male runner in the race: 1 bike = 1x LG Phone (same from start)
    • 2nd male runner in the race: 1 bike = 1x KingKong from 44k Split
    • 3rd male runner in the race: 1 bike = 1x KingKong from 44k Split
    • 1st female runner in the race: 1 bike = 1x LG Phone (same from start)
    • 2nd female runner in the race: 1 bike = 1x KingKong from 44k Split
    • 1st male wheelchair in the race: 1 bike = 1x LG (the same from start on)
    • 1st female wheelchair in the race: 1 bike = 1x LG (the same from start on)

The bikers will have a phone with an app to track the leaders, they can enter the
startnumber of the runner they accompany.

At KM 44
  • One biker stays with the leader
  • The other biker (TRACKING) gives his phone to the timer at KM 44 an receives a new
    tracking phone.
When the 2nd runner passes the biker enters the startnumber of the runner and
then starts going with him/her (applies for 2nd place male and female)
  • The 3rd biker should be placed at KM 44 and will receive a phone from the timer
    there.
The biker waits at KM44 until the 3rd runner arrives, enters his startnumber in the
tracking app and starts going with him.
    • Means there will be 1 additional bike waiting at KM 44 to go with 3rd place male.
The other bikes to track 2nd place male and 2nd place female will arrive with the
male and female 1st place and then split up.

How to use the tracking devices

This is how the tracking app will look like:

  • The Bikers have to enter the startnumber in the field „Pos1:“ to track it.
  • The tracking devices including the app will be prepared and handed out by the timing
team on site. They will also give a briefing to the bikers.
  • The devices are already labeled correctly.

3 KingKongs labeled as following:
1x KingKong = <IOC>-2F

1 x KingKong = <IOC>-2M
1x KingKong = <IOC>-3M

FAQs – Please read carefully

  • Question: One oft he tracked females was caught – can we re-use the phone to track
    male runners?
